While it’s possible that all 18 employees in Ghor suddenly went rogue and started trying to convert people to Christianity, I think it’s more likely that the Taliban took the opportunity to crack down on education of women.
To be fair, a lot of Americans have gone over there and preached Christianity. That part may be true. Same as Americans go to China and get caught trying to convert people.

It’s quite naive to say that missionaries are just “expressing” themselves. It has been well documented that they use predatory and coercive tactics to take advantage of the poor and uneducated. Missionaries are colonialist, which is undefensible.
