Makes sense. English isn’t my first language and even in my first language (German), I couldn’t tell you how they’re called. Most people just call them double busses or accordion busses.

Yea. The bus I take when I go to vocational school is one of those long double busses with bellows in the middle. If you get there at the wrong time, it’s packed to the point the doors won’t close. It has like 50 seats or so alone and at least the same amount of people standing, if not more. It’s crazy how many people you can squish in a single bus. Luckily the ride is only like 10min because it does get uncomfortably full at times.
Also, as a nice extra, the busses are fully electric, also.
I wouldn’t recommend Intel CPUs (at least the last two gens) either but if all that matters to you in a GPU is hardware encoding (quality or codec support), like for a Jellyfin server, Intel ARC is unbeatable.
Really? I hated SourceTree. It was the reason why I switched to GitKraken in the first place. Haven’t needed to use git in a few years now but especially when dealing with conflicts, GitKraken was just infinitely superior and sourcetree annoyingly barebones.
And spam (like spam mail) is called so because of a monty python sketch referencing the canned meat with the same name.
That sadly isn’t true everywhere. Here in Germany (and I suspect large parts of the EU) downloading/streaming copyrighted content without license used to be a grey area but has been completely illegal for a few years now.
Of course, VPNs are perfectly legal.
Almost double the price for a bit nicer raytracing, 2TB and higher framerates in the very few games that don’t support at least 60fps is a very hefty asking price.
For 900€ you can get a pretty good gaming PC. If you buy some parts used, you can even get a really good rig for that price. You might just need to wait a few years until the latest sony exclusives make it to PC eventually.
When I‘m on an apple device (my phone or work mac) I use Safari. On any other device: Firefox. And if the website doesn’t work properly in either one of those, ungoogled chromium.
Fair but back when I still used wired headphones on the regular, the things that annoyed me enough about wired headphones to go wireless were:
• the need to untangle them, every time I pulled them out of my pocket
• the cable lasting significantly shorter than any pair of wireless earbuds I‘ve owned (which aren’t many. I got my first pair in early 2019 and my second one end of last year, while I had to buy new wired earbuds at least once a year)
• the hassle of pulling the cable through my clothes, so they don’t get caught
• the cable, through its own weight constantly pulling on my earbuds when I move, so I constantly had to readjust it, so it wouldn’t pull them out of my rest
• because most don’t come with a case, I lost the silicon tips surprisingly often.
• they got yanked out of my ear, either when I got caught on something or when I pulled down my pants and didn’t take my phone out of my pocket first.
Wired earbuds aren’t perfect, at least not for everyone. Sure, they can last longer, but in praxis, for me they didn’t (and I didn’t buy the cheapest no-name earbuds either). And also, I don’t use my earbuds with a lot of different devices, so I don’t need them to be able to connect to anything. Them needing to be charged is a bit annoying at times but so do my phone and my laptop. I prefer the inconvenience of plugging them in once a week to untangling them for a minute every time I want to use them.
Last year, when my wireless AirPods had finally kicked the can after 4½ years, I used the wired Apple EarPods, I had laying around, for a month or so. They’re decent but dealing with the cable got on my nerves quickly, so I got myself some 40€ wireless earbuds again and am much happier. I do still use wired headphones but they’re over-ears, for when I want to actively listen to music in lossless quality instead of just having something for when I’m on the go.
Dafür ist Elektrizität und Heizung sehr günstig
But isn’t that exactly what independent reviews are for? Be it on YouTube or in written form, there are people ahead doing what you are doing but without doing it to someone else’s property.
Ah, so you‘re one of those people that would be well at home at lemmygrad. And what fate are you talking about? Not getting sued?
Where did I say that find it good that they got sued or lost their appeal? I just said that the reason why they lost the appeal is because according to the law they’re bound to, what they did was wrong. And maybe they should’ve left that to a platform that enjoys a little more immunity from said law, because there are plenty of those. It was stupid of them. They painted an unnecessary target on their back that doesn’t help their cause and I‘d prefer them not to have to shut down at some point because I’m all for the Internet archive archiving anything and everything. They should’ve stayed a legitimate library and everything would have been fine and would have served their cause sufficiently well.
People also order on temu. Amazon is oftentimes the same but with one day delivery. And Amazon does not just sell trash, since you can still get almost anything. An iPhone from Amazon is the same as an iPhone directly from Apple or from some smaller shop. And it might be cheaper, additional to the quick delivery. Amazon can still be incredibly convenient. If I know I need something important tomorrow and there’s no local store, Amazon it is. But of course, if I just want a thing without hurry, there are usually some better/cheaper options.
Also, you sound like a nightmare customer. Do you also break stuff in small privately owned shops or do you at least stick to big corporate stores?
Which was nice of them, but that doesn’t mean they should’ve done that, especially in the eyes of the law. (Also, if you’re after free ebooks, why are you pirating them on archive.org instead of libgen?)
The commenter I responded to originally seemed confused/surprised by it, though.
I’ll definitely play Jedi Survivor (as soon as I get around to upgrading my graphics card to something that can actually play the game).
I might try outlaws once it’s on clearance or so. But as someone who hated most of what Ubisoft did in the last few years (they ruined my beloved Assassin‘s Creed and made a mockery out of Watch_Dogs), I will stay sceptical.
Ah. Danke.
