I’m surprised it got this high honestly, all the previews for it looked mediocre to me.
I think the headline is deliberately misleading. The use of “97” makes a casual reader think it was rated 97 percent fresh. An honest headline is “With 97 reviews in, 2/3rds are positive.”
I enjoyed the latest trailer but it did feel very generic to me. I guess it might be just well done but has a middle of the road story.
Did not expect to see this. Looks like there was a reason they moved this from streaming to theaters. I was thinking of cancelling my A-List but this is a nice surprise to go see.
Is Rotten Tomatoes even trustable?
I think the better question is “is it useful”?
A good review is just meant to let you know where or not you’ll be glad you watched it if you do. Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic are meant to let you assess whether you identify more with those who liked it or those who don’t.
I think Metacritic is a bit better, and it’s clear that this movie isn’t for everyone, but I will probably like it. I think Blue Beetle is a cool character, and this seems like a good vehicle for that character.
Not until the audience score comes out. No one gives a fuck about a dumb ass movie critic opinion
IMO, not really, I find TMDB to be more consistent.
I just came from seeing it. It’s better than Black Adam. A bit predictable; borrowed a lot from Iron Man 2. Some of the editing made it feel kinda rushed and ruined the timing of the humor.
It was nice that most of the cast actually had a roll to play, and weren’t just fodder for the plot. George Lopez wasn’t just comic relief. Raoul Trujillo felt like a conflicted character. Adriana Barraza as Nana kicked ass!
