    how tf they manage to get permits to build a building like that in a town where the rest of the buildings are drab and boring as tits?

      Billund was incorporated into another city some years ago. The old Town Hall was for sale (and not worthy saving) so LEGO bought it and built LEGO House in that place. This is right in the center of the city, with the LEGO archives and the original Christansen workshop right next to it.

      The permits would be easy if you are the top source of municipal tax income. You don’t even need corruption, from a certain level they jus say yes to everything. Besides, this building looks a thousand times better than the old Town Hall.

      LEGO and the airport, are maybe the only reasons this city is thriving really. My guess is that LEGO can more or less ask for whatever they want and Billund will (after some symbolic consideration) allow it
