Ich habe jetzt mitbekommen, dass in Luxemburg der Anbau und Konsum (von bis zu vier Pflanzen) ab Freitag legal ist. Luxemburg ist, wie Deutschland, Mitglied der EU und entsprechend dem gleichen Europarecht unterworfen.

Was führen wir hier im Land eigentlich für eine Phantomdiskussion? Ich habe mich damit noch nicht näher beschäftigt aber kann einer von euch das mal näher erklären?

A law allowing Luxembourg residents to grow up to four cannabis plants and smoke the drug at home will come into force on Friday, just ahead of the elections in autumn.

The law, approved by a majority of lawmakers at the end of last month, was published in the official law journal on Monday and will come into force on Friday, the justice ministry said in a press release on Tuesday.

The law, which was years in the making, will enable people to grow up to four cannabis plants per household at home. This must be done out of sight of minors. Smoking cannabis is only legal at the same premise, while the sale or possession of the drug outside is still illegal, but now carries lower fines.

The government encountered legal hurdles and pressure from abroad, leading it to significantly reduce the scope of the bill. Another bill moving towards greater legalisation is still in the works, the government said earlier this year, but would not come before the country held general elections in October.

The three parties in government, the Greens, the Social-Democrats of the LSAP, and the liberals of the Democratic Party argued in parliament last month that a repressive approach to drug policy does not work anymore and that the bill is a first step towards a wider legalisation of cannabis.

Ich meine, dass ist noch nicht der große Wurf, der ist immer noch in Vorbereitung, aber da wird offenbar unbürokratisch gemacht, was geht und dann später nachgelegt und in Deutschland pissen sie sich ins Hemd und überlegen händeringend warum sie gerade jetzt nicht legalisieren können?
