Summary

Donald Trump declared on Truth Social that the U.S. “should have nothing to do with” Syria, sparking criticism from experts.

Critics noted that 900 U.S. troops are currently stationed there, assisting Kurdish forces to prevent an ISIS resurgence.

Experts fear Trump may withdraw these troops, potentially destabilizing the region.

Analysts warn this stance reflects a shift toward a reduced U.S. global influence, with some seeing it as a preview of a post-American global security order.

Critics also question Trump’s understanding of U.S. involvement in Syrian affairs.

    Look at his record.

He gave the Taliban everything they wanted and called it peace.

He gave Israel everything they wanted and called it peace.

He gave Turkey the green light to take Kurdish territory and called it peace.

He wants to give Putin everything he wants in Ukraine to call it peace.

Of course he’s going to withdraw US troops from Syria/Kurdistan and call it peace. That’s what he does.

This is his strategy. He thinks diplomacy is just walking into the boardroom and saying “alright, what do you want” so long as it’s not YOUR stuff you’re giving up. Trump is perfectly happy to give up OTHER PEOPLE’S STUFF, other people’s territory and homes and even lives so long as it’s not HIS stuff, HIS territory, HIS life.
