Israel has given Hamas a proposal through Qatari and Egyptian mediators that includes up to two months of a pause in the fighting as part of a multi-phase deal that would include the release of all remaining hostages held in Gaza, two Israeli officials said.

Why it matters: While the proposal doesn’t include an agreement to end the war, it is the longest period of ceasefire that Israel has offered Hamas since the start of the war.

Driving the news: More than 130 hostages are still being held in Gaza. Israeli officials say several dozen hostages either died on October 7 or in the weeks since then.

I think there are a lot of useful idiots for Iran who hear the same three or four war crimes repeated as nauseum by the press, exaggerated by Hamas of course, and then they assume the worst about everything they see without checking the facts.

Wasn’t that you that cited to me a video of Al Israa college being destroyed and even a journalists at the White House was insisting it showed a controlled demolition and implosion, and it absolutely did not show that? I think that happens over and over.

People say “oh Israel blew up a building in the safe zone with no warning!” Well then it turns out there were actually multiple warnings and there was a Hamas commander inside surrounded by his family and friends. Bam, 100 civilians dead. Such atrocity, genocide! people then say. Really, it was Hamas that killed those people.

Check that last comment I wrote you about it. Turns out the IDF is basically saying it was a controlled explosion that they approved, alongside other controlled explosions. I think it’s on Times of Israel. I thought you read that kind of stuff.
