Is he going to buy a “founder of the USA” label and have it put in the Constitution like he made himself a Tesla founder?

i dont think “president” is a good descriptor of musks position. i think if anything he’s more like the CEO of the united states. he gets to complain about stuff and give orders that other people follow. the president does this to some degree as well, but i think the president has way more responsibilities and paper work than the average CEO. the president also has to make more public appearances and answer questions from various government organizations/committees. musk doesn’t have to do any of that. he can just show up whenever he wants and make demands

I agree in general but I think it’s funny to imagine Teflon Don doing paperwork. The only thing he’s read in years is a teleprompter.

Seriously he didn’t do shit but rallies and sign whatever he was handed last time. Trump played golf, which takes a long fucking time, on average more than once a week during his presidency. Once every 5.6 days is the estimate.

yeah thats a good point. trump was certainly not responsible last time around (and i highly doubt he will be responsible this time). although in the case of trump, it’s him not doing the things he’s supposed to. whereas in elons case, nobody is asking him to sign stuff or do anything. and i think that’s an important distinction. he gets all the power with none of the responsibility.

I agree with the sentiment I’ve seen posted here several times that two egos that big, in close proximity, for a long time, will eventually explode. I hope so anyway. Unless you’re down to do a green Mario or start working on mutual aid, there’s not much to do but grab the popcorn and wait for that very public breakup.

Oh and if you have the means, and are not suicidal, arm yourself before January 20th. Take a safety class and practice. Secure your weapons if there’s any chance of a child getting to them. We don’t know what’s coming.

i also agree with that sentiment. and i think that people are starting to talk a lot more about how much power and influence musk has. it’s only a matter of time until trump sees it (if he hasn’t already), and from that point it’s only a matter of time until it gets under his skin and he lashes out. (at least that’s what i think will happen.)

i sometimes forget that trump isn’t the president yet, given how it seems like the media has entirely neglected biden for the past month and a half, and how there have been constant stories about trump every day since the election. i am not looking forward for what’s to come.

i appreciate the advice (genuinely), but i don’t think that owning a gun would be the best choice for me due to mental health stuff. although it is a good reminder to start preparing for what’s to come after january 20th. i am not looking forward to it.

That’s why they call this the lame duck period of a presidency. Biden still technically has the power but nobody cares.

No but he’ll totally throw a tantrum about it soon. Orange baby can’t have anyone else getting wuv other than him. It’s gonna be some beautiful fireworks when the richest manchild clashes with the weakest ego president.

Once Trump tries to break the rules by getting a third term, or pulls a Medvedev and becomes vice president to a stooge while still running things (which is also unconstitutional), the barn door is broken wide open. It won’t be a problem for Musk to run even though he’s foreign-born.

They’re around each other often. One shouldn’t have to resort to AI to manifest an image of them beside each other. IMO, using AI in propaganda (even if factually accurate propaganda) makes the message come across as phony and those in agreement look disingenuous or dumb since the propagator couldn’t even bother to use reality in their imagery.

Look at A.I. Trump’s face — he almost looks like a human.

The lens sharpness and focal length seem a bit off between the foreground and the background but I don’t know enough about photography to say with authority if this is particularly telling. The poses and the gloss just seem too perfect and there is no apparent motion transpiring. Musk’s face also seems to lack depth as his left cheek looks like it’s just painted onto the same plane as his face.

After feeling like the image was off, I reverse image searched it with the text cropped out and found no results that did not have the text superimposed. Out of curiosity and without any idea of how reliable they are, I tried a site that claims to be able to detect if images are AI and it said it was ~98% sure it was generated through Stable Diffusion.

That’s assuming people can even tell. It’s at the point now where a lot of people are starting to struggle.

Even if people couldn’t tell, when it comes out that a purportedly real photo is AI, it still can greatly undermine a point.

Fine if the photo is obviously AI as an obviously fake over the top satire, but other than that, particularly when there’s just a huge library of real photos, don’t resort to AI fakes.

You’re stuck in the old way of thinking, when facts and reality mattered. The only thing that matters now are feelings, specifically outrage, or smug superiority.

          Does it really matter?

Musk just killed the US budget bill with a bunch of tweets that were explicit lies, and people lapped them up. Bizarre, obvious AI slop gets tons of engagement on Facebook.

          And there are zero consequences.

Trump and Musk embraced a post truth world, so maybe it’s time for their opposition to stop pretending like America can (as a whole) think critically and fight fire with fire. Maybe it will accelerate the fall of the platforms that enable them.
