  • That’s exactly how I felt too. I tried SO MANY times to build the ship I wanted. Never could get it done. I even console-command-cheated vendor stock to allow myself access to every part at my home base, and even STILL THEN I could never get it the way I wanted it. It was important to me for role-playing purposes for every crew member on board to have their own bed, and a good kitchen, living space, bathrooms, etc… Stuff that just makes sense for a spaceship that is essentially a flying house. But so many times I could never get the damn ship builder to do what I wanted. I’d change some random part, and then BAM some of my beds would disappear for no reason? Ok well now two of my crew members have nowhere to sleep. wtf.

Just wound up abandoning my entire build and going back to the same ol ship I’d been using the whole game.

    spoiler

It’s also absolutely bizarre to me that the end-game ship, the one I had been looking forward to for SO LONG is just completely and totally 100% empty. When I had my crew members on board, they just stood still in place and stared at the wall. What the hell is going on here!??!?!?! That really ruined the entire ship for me. Could never get over that.

  • Yeah he basically wrote a book full of a bunch of lies in which he shits all over kentucky, but also the entire appalachian region with just a whole truckload of baseless claims and completely made up “stories” of his upbringing that never happened. It’s all lies. Like @eestileib said, it just preyed on the prejudice big city people all over the country had about this region, having never actually been here at all. They think of Appalachia and think no shoes, inbred hillbillies who can’t even speak and don’t have running water. Vance wrote a NY TIMES BESTSELLER (how on earth did they approve that) that just made up a bunch of lies confirming all those prejudices. In reality Appalachia is one of the most unique, gorgeous, creative, wonderful places on earth. Of course it has its problems, but Vance would never write something about how beautiful and wonderful something is. He’d much rather write something that tears down and belittles people he knows nothing about.

As I said: he’s probably the #1 most hated human around this region.

  • It was indeed buggy, which was when I reached out to support. They immediately asked if I was using not Google Chrome itself, but a Chromium offshoot like Brave or Vivaldi. I was using ungoogled chromium, so they told me it won’t work. I switched to regular google chrome and it worked great. I wonder what on earth they’re using that’s part of Google Chrome that makes it work and not part of any other chromium projects.

Oof, the most recent news posting is “entering alpha phase” which is a big no thanks for me. In addition, the main descriptive sentence says “It aims to be clean and usable while addressing the various shortcomings of an average Linux distribution.” But then doesn’t explain that. What does it consider to be shortcomings of an average distro?
