No idea actually. Haven’t heard much about him since the story came out. I will have to look up what came of this, if anything is out there to know.

You are talking about Henry Bennett. This is a myth though. While he did have stairs like that, he died in a care home after years of declining health. His actual cause of death wasn’t announced, but it was likely because he had been in rapid decline for years and just before going into the care home, had a stroke.
Concentrated solar plants that heat using a bunch of focused light
One of the cops’ spouse worked in the school and they had to physically restrain him from going in
Wasn’t one of these built and ended up being a huge failure?
Also Cathode Ray Dude
Also sponge bob skin theory. Dude had a little video putzing around, then a couple years later dropped a couple hour long video to convince people of some absolutely wild shit about sponge bob, then just disappeared.
Yeah, also, imagine in the bronze age, a shaq sized dude was found and trained to be an elite warrior. I could totally see the men of that era, who encountered him in battle, telling tall tails of a 9 foot giant they had to fight.
I mean, Goliath was called a giant but wasn’t “my skull is the size of a full grown man’s torso” big. He is said to be about 9’-9’9". Which, if there was historical legitimacy to the story, could easily be within the range of a very tall person that had their height exaggerated over time.
i think it is older than that now isn’t it? I happened in 2016, i thought it came to the news in like 2019 or 2020… then again, life is like a blur to me, so…
People change faith all the time. In fact if you type into google “does faith change” the first several things I get are papers discussing that faith does change and why, including the introduction of new information on a subject. So you are wrong.
I have faith that there is an attractive force tied to mass
Where did you get this definition? You can absolutely have concrete proof of something, therefore knowledge of it, and still believe it. I believe in gravity. Do you know why? Because there is a lot of proof out there for it. I do not believe things I have no proof of. You can also have faith in something you know, due to proof, is true.
You can also believe, and/or have faith in, things that have no proof.
yes, lengthy, nuanced, disputations, are just what the four panel comics, on the meme forum, needs.
You really think kids use consoles, to access social media, more than phones, and tablets?
I have personally worked with Fetterman a number of times while I was working for Allegheny county. He had some moderate stances on things like Israeli support, but not like this. Also, he spent his entire time as mayor of Braddock pushing a lot of very progressive things. He actively turned down opportunities to not be living in his office, and get highly paid, in order to fight a large amount of resistance he faced, even among the people he directly worked with in Braddock. He had a provable, positive, long term, impact on Braddock. He demonstrated that a lot of progressive ideas works, because Braddock implemented them, and it worked. This had a impact on how Pittsburgh, and Allegheny county in general, looked at the future, and how to best design it.
He has demonstrated he is staunchly pro-labor and, in the past, has demonstrated so via sacrificing political payola to do that, among many other progressive things. So I am very conflicted at this serious increase in, what was previously a relatively moderate, stance on Israel. I have to wonder if it was the stroke, or did he strike a deal with AIPAC.
their post is right in line with how lemmy thinks about these though. The whole thing is about how stupid they are in terms of costs, how the people who get them like it because they look tough, and provides statements from a police chief about how it makes them look bad. The edit discussing some of the possible usefulness of them, are things you never see these being used for. I don’t understand the reason for your comment. Did you read the post?
No, China’s current economy is not communist. Nothing to do with Mao, or what I think about communism personally.
Seems he resigned from that department but I can’t find anything about him other than a piece talking about his wife since then. Nothing about his stance on policing, his job, etc.
