I’ve told this story on here before, but here it is again: I used to write for a very Windows-centric computer magazine, and after a couple of years I noticed that most of the content I was writing was about how to make Windows behave less like Windows. So I thought I’d give Linux a go, and I haven’t looked back since. I’ve had phases when I tried convincing all my friends to make the switch, but I’ve realized that it’s just not for everyone. I don’t think I’m obsessed, I don’t customize my desktop much, I just want my system to work smoothly.

Is the deer the Libreboot logo? Mine has a rabbit (Coreboot). I flashed Coreboot on my old Chromebook a couple of years ago and it’s been running different flavours of linux since without any fuss.

I’ve been reading Consider Phlebas by Iain M. Banks. What a ride! I’ve never read Consider Phlebas before, and only a couple of the other books in the Culture series. But after finishing The Expanse recently, I’ve decided it’s time to read the entire Culture series from the beginning. My Kindle says I’m 40% in(250 pages), and I love it! It’s quite a different beast, coming from The Expanse, but every bit as intense, in its own way. I remember reading (on Reddit) that it’s a good idea to start with the second or third book because Consider Phlebas is kinda slow in comparison. If that’s the case, those book are going to be wild!

I read that as Diarrhea 4 and thought “fuckers will make a game out of anything these days”, gave it another think at realized it sounded kind of interesting, in a South Park kinda way. Then reread the title. Slightly disappointed “Diarrhea 4” wasn’t a game.

Indeed! Her love versions of “Troy” give me the chills. It’s a good song on record but her intensity of the live performances lifted it into legend territory.
