Okay maybe we experienced different places but at least in Osaka this has not been my experience. The most xenophobia I’ve experienced ever since I came (a year+ ago) is random restrictions on foreigners at JP Bank (which should honestly rot in hell), but I’ve definitely not seen anything close to your experience. Okay as an expat who’s had to deal with this shit firsthand I’m not one to defend Japanese nonsense but I think people are entitled to do whatever they want with their homes. Again, very much not a fan of Japanese xenophobia (Japan Post Bank should rot in hell) but the onus is on the tourists to not enter random people’s homes here.

So this turned into a bit of a rant and while it’s likely nobody cares I’ll post it anyway.

I don’t know about Christianity but at least in Islam this isn’t how it works. So there’s a hadith that says that death is the worst of what comes before it and the easiest of what comes after it, because the day of judgement is just that bad. There’s another that says that in the day of judgement it will be so hard that people will want Allah to start it even if they go to hell. No matter how much you think you’ve been a good person it’s not at all something to look forward to. And that’s not counting how even as a Muslim depending on what you did in your life, you could go to hell, spend a certain time there according to your sins in life and then go to heaven. Again not something most people want to find out, especially because Islam teaches that with the exception of prophets everyone sins and that we all need Allah’s forgiveness and mercy to go to heaven. The kind of arrogance it’d take to actually hope for death because you’re confident you’re going to heaven can in fact be the reason you go to hell. A devout Muslim will never think “oh I’ve been really good in life I can’t wait to die and go to heaven”.

Then we get into how in the day of judgement people will have mountains of good deeds and mountains of bad deeds and people’s (temporary; again all Muslims will eventually go to heaven) fate will be decided over a single good or bad deed. Most people thinking seriously about the afterlife will want to live as long as possible to do good deeds and beg god for forgiveness for their bad deeds. Again, no sane Muslim will think “yep, I’m doing alright, death please”.

I mean true enough but that has nothing to do with preparing for war. To put it simply there’s a reason, say, Japan has an army despite their constitution denouncing war.

I’m not talking about Likud alone; I’m talking about the right wing in general since they all seem to agree that they should steal Palestinian land for Lebensraum. Also I was specifically talking about his policies relating to Palestine, not as a whole.

Anyway I haven’t seen any evidence that there’s significant Israeli opposition against the genocide in Palestine, especially given that the Israeli right wing is actually growing.

And because he’s been Israel’s PM for about half the past 30 years. What I want to say is: Enough people like him that he keeps getting reelected, and even now people aren’t objecting to his policies but rather because he wants to sidestep democracy. I mean good thing they’re trying to defend “democracy” (it’s debatable how much an Apartheid state where 5 million people don’t have voting rights can call itself a democracy but that aside) but the fact that words like “war crime” or “genocide” don’t appear even once in this article (except when talking about October 7th) is very damning.

Just saying, this is the same excuse Zionists use for why Palestinians should just give up and accept their fate.

True enough but let’s not forget that there’s a reason Netanyahu is called the king of Israeli politics. His policies represent a majority of Israel’s voting popuation.

Yes. Israel has been obviously breaking international law, using American weapons (including the infamous 2000 pound bombs) for a while now. Many individual Israeli actions have been called warcrimes by various NGOs, up to and including the UN. If he wanted to do anything he’d have done it already. He also wouldn’t match bold-faced Israeli propaganda (like the 40 dead babies debacle).

You have no basis for your assertion that Biden is even doing worse than average, so stop trying to act like it’s an established fact.

I do: Biden is one of the few US presidents who hasn’t stopped Israel when they did something this out of proportion. Again, this man is doing worse than Reagan and Bush. Do you understand how low the bar he’s failing to meet is?

As an Egyptian, you’re overthinking it. Almost all Arabs have a very similar image of Israel because we’ve seen firsthand (or secondhand from Palestinians) how ridiculously horrible Israel is.

Iran isn’t popular with Arabs, but they’re much more popular than Israel.
