  • The motivation behind doing it was that different cultures treat what is food differently as is exemplified in their example of chicken feet. However, that also raises big questions on the efficacy of this data since houses which use raw fruits and vegetables are probably likely to have higher food waste by this definition since most people aren’t buying bone-in meat. But since a big objective of their report was tackling greenhouse gas generation from said food waste, I guess it makes sense in that context? I tried to figure out the exact methodology by which they estimate their numbers but I wasn’t able to find it.

  • This is a very bait way to mention the fact. It insinuates India is increasing effort towards coal and gas when that is clearly not true. India is globally the third largest producer of renewable energy and 40 percent of all new energy plants are renewable energy. Also, if you think about it, do you really think it’s possible to generate extra electricity from wind and solar and hydroelectric on demand? Naturally, if your demand goes up, you can only burn more fuel. The best way to do this would be to consume nuclear fuel which India already is moving towards, but the current infrastructure is still significantly reliable on coal. Also, if you want to blame global heat on India, I would recommend looking at per capita statistics instead of punching down at a country which had all of its resources stripped by a nation which built its wealth on colonialism

  • Brother, it’s your cost of living. Almost every other country which has a footprint on the video game market and isn’t known for black policies has better working hours and balance of life. It’s just that paying Americans a liveable wage is three or four times more expensive than giving a reasonably comfortable wage to a developer elsewhere.

The other part of it is to look at where your game companies are clustered in the US. It’s either the bay area, Seattle, or Florida. None of those places are exactly cheap to either hire employees with these conditions or to hold an office space.
