I’ll be at the polls to vote local/state. I’ll probably even vote third party because at a core level I believe in the act of voting, just not for these two jabronis.
Stop letting them tell you this is the best we can do. We CAN do better, but people in power have incentive to keep it this way for a reason.

Again, I don’t really care how meaningful you think your vote for Biden is. It means more to me right now to not cast a vote than it would to choose the lesser of two evils. I’m glad you feel the way you do about this election, but I don’t, and I’m not going to cast a vote just I can feel “useful”.
Because this is a discussion about the issue of not voting? Discussion is something that this website needs more of so I try to comment on articles if I have an opinion. I don’t care if you discount my opinion, I’m just not going to be shamed because of it.
If I don’t agree with either candidate, I’m not voting for them, simple as that. I don’t care what someone else thinks about my choice, I’m done compromising on my beliefs for old men who can’t step aside.
Biden is hawkish on Israel because he remembers a version of Israel that doesn’t exist anymore. The stalwart of the Middle East is a shell of itself and it doesn’t want the rest of the world finding out. I know his age is a meme at this point but it’s worth pointing out here
I would have preferred the US foreign policy to be closer to what our founding fathers wanted, to stay the fuck out of everyone’s business. Unfortunately, people in Washington starting realizing that wars are GOOD business and have basically kept us involved in some sort of active conflict for decades now

Same here, 04 was my first election so I was still under the haze of my parents politics but I remember very similar language being used back then.

Something similar happened in my city. The incumbent mayor saw his challenger as not worth his time, he’s held the office for a long time now. He wouldn’t debate, wouldn’t mention their name, largely ignored any campaigning for the primaries.
He ended up losing. A “far left” candidate won instead and then the same incumbent mayor spent the time until the election smearing the primary winner for being a socialist and had to start the most successful write in campaign I’ve certainly ever seen.
The old mayor ended up winning despite his hubris and we all continued on like nothing happened. It was gross and weird and it’s left a bad taste in my mouth since it happened.
A post on r/latestagecapitalism of a political cartoon mildly criticizing the spending for Ukraine war effort, it was the first time I really actually noticed a botted comment section. I noticed similar accounts clearly astroturfing the post and basically stopped using the platform that day.
The whole reason I found reddit to be useful was the discussion within the posts from real people with real opinions. If that’s no longer the case then I can get the same aggregated content elsewhere. I can’t use the site knowing the discussion is so influenced, at least on some level, in some subs. It’s gross.
