Model split also has it’s downsides. For example:

Not every trip is the same in every country. Denmark commutes 22km on average, the Netherlands does 3km

Not every country travels as far. Someone who does 10km by train out of 100km has a much greater share than 20km out of 10.000.

The Doolittle raid is the perfect example of a PR move, because it was insanely expensive and did very little. It cost 16 planes and their crews, and took very expensive ships out of the running for months. BUT despite doing basically no damage, made Japan bring 2 carriers away from Midway to take a couple of tiny islands to prevent bomber bases being built on them.

As far as we know, this basically took some RHIBs and troops on foot. Way less than the Doolittle Raid. Unfortunately it’s likely we’ll never know the effect this had, or how many of these raids take place.

This is really only a raid, Ukraine has no ability to supply troops by sea, nor the ability to even land enough troops to hold territory.

But the fact that they did this means that Russian “rear” area security is absolute shit, and they have the option to improve that (taking forces from reserves or the fromt) or suffer more rear area raids.

Try something simple in Windows like setting custom keyboard shortcuts… insanely frustrating.

You can set macro’s under Mouse and Keyboard center (though only in win11, welcome to 1995 Microsoft!) You can set a keyboard shortcut for a program under a shortcut’s properties (since at least a couple of editions ago).

The library I worked for as a teen used to process off-site reservations by writing them to a text file, which was automatically e-faxed to all locations every odd day.

If you worked at not-the-main-location, you couldn’t do an off-site reservation, so on even days, you would print your list and fax it to the main site, who would re-enter it into the system.

This was 2005. And yes, it broke every month with an odd number of days.
