Also zeppo@lemmy.world. Not a lot of Zeppos out here.

I also hate driving vehicles like this. It’s not comfortable to know you can’t see around you properly. They’re hard to park too and get terrible mileage.
I had a gf with a full size Chevy, a Silverado or something, and basically hated driving it. We’d go mildly off roading on some dirt roads and when you were going uphill you couldn’t see the road ahead of you. Just awful. I had to stop and get out a few times to ensure we weren’t about to drive off a cliff. That never happened in the normal sized Subaru I had.
That’s a US-only extension mainly used by Facebook and Twitter members.
Also /lib is where some people keep discarded capitalists
That’s what I thought too. This is directory structure, not file systems.
/home is often on a separate volume. You’d want root to be available in a maintenance situation where /home may not be mounted.
I don’t recall the reasons for the addition but /media is newer than /mnt.
Well, check it out: https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/taurine-in-cats
Taurine is an amino acid that’s an esssential nutrient for cats.
Proteins are just amino acids. You can find the same proteins in plant foods as meat. There are other details about what different types of basic foods contain, of course, but it’s theoretically possible to create something that contains all the same nutrients as meat out of plants.
I had a Jack Russell who was crazy about eating out of the litterbox. Just horrifying, obviously. Maybe it tastes like meat, idk, who knows what it smells like to a dog.
I recall seeing in a special card at a Chinese restaurant “Pigs Blood with Mixed Vegetable”. Sounds awful to me but some people must like it.
I’ve heard of that in Detroit. My jujitsu instructor told a story of driving through there somewhere and he stopped at a red light. A police officer pulled him over and explained that he would get robbed if he stopped at lights, and that everyone would know he was clueless and from out of town.
That’s not what OP said. They said it’s a useful cleaner recipe.
Oh Jesus, just fuck off.
No, not really. Nobody asked what the effect was going to be on Biden being elected.
Yeah, but the question was answered as if it was “what effect will this have on Biden’s chances of being elected”. Saying “Biden didn’t have a chance anyway so nothing” is an irrelevant statement. The issue is whether it affects the Democrat’s chances of having a winning candidate.
Kinda beside the point? The question is really what chances will the nominee have.
I swear I saw the dogman one time. Of course, nobody except for one friend believes me. People think I’m nuts when I tell this story.
It was around 2012, and I had finally left after visiting some friends by Ann Arbor for a few weeks. I love the west coast of Michigan and the UP, so I figured I’d head out there a while and maybe go to Sleeping Bear before heading north and back to Wisconsin.
I was in one of the coastal towns there. Not sure which… I don’t think Pentwater or Muskegon. Could be Holland or Ludington? It was after dark and I was a little sleepy. I was driving west and kind of lurched to a stop at a 4 way sign… looked up, there was a cop to my right. Great. I decided to take evasive action and turned north, then east into some neighborhood. I ended up turning north to continue that way and then had to head west back to the main road because there was a river.
I got back to the main road and turned north by some small shops with streetlights. The shops were to my right and to the left, there was a grassy hill leading up towards forest. I saw some sort of animal out of the corner of my eye - looked large and brown, and I thought cool, I’m about to see a badger or a woodchuck or something. But it moved veeeery quickly, and oddly, and looked rather large. I was just, huh, wtf is that? It sort of moved like a human but was low to the ground. So, intrigued, I watched in my rear view after passing. It walked up to the side of the road, and no shit, seriously, it stood up, looking like a humanoid about 5-6 feet tall, hunched over in a gorilla pose with arms hanging down, and then it ran across the road. I was just uh, holy shit.
I had been planning on stopping and sleeping in my car in the woods somewhere, but after that, no fuckin way. I drove for over 2 hours north to somewhere like Leland or Suttons Bay to get the hell out of there.
It’s not all about Trump or Biden personally though. It’s the people they appoint and install to run the government and who they have as advisors. Trump has shown he selects the absolute worst people, who tend to be a combination of malicious, criminal and incompetent. Biden, on the other hand, built a competent administration who is actually interested in competently running the executive branch for the positive benefit of Americans.
In the past, definitely. I’m not sure what the current system is.
Realistically, might as well read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pager as it knows a lot more than I do. I had a pager for several years and have done network programming, that’s about it… i have an insulin pump that people often mistake for a pager though, ha. It makes me look pretty cool.
