A lot of farmers are learning how they work cause the companies that sell them the equipment keep fucking them over. Hell yes we need to open source stuff like this. Looking at the video it looks like it replaces the muscle used to move the top two parts of the digit (flange?) with a simple spring which is such a simple and elegant design. I wonder if there’s issues with the spring “biting” skin/hair.

More importantly the technology isn’t there yet for scale. After watching a few documentaries I’m not sure if we will ever scale it up, but here’s to hoping. I need to go find some links now
