How is it possible that users noticed strange behaviors (new Cron jobs) and they didn’t check the script launched by those jobs 😱
For what concerns flatpak, did you try flatpak remove --unused?
Edit: I didn’t read you already did it, nvm
Rustdesk, I use it for work
Do you still have windows installed?
Well, good for them that are happy with the segmentation fault (?) Every time I see it I start screaming
I use Pop OS for gaming & working and I personally suggest that, never had problems.
For games, you can check protondb for compatibility with proton/steam. For other launchers you can use Heroic Games Launcher for epic and gog. For EA Play (or how tf it is called now, ex origin) I run it from steam as a shortcut but in general you can use Lutris for them and there are particular games (like league of legends) that are executed via Lutris.
For what concerns Microsoft Teams, you can use a web browser as I do. While for office you said that you have an office 365 subscription so I suppose you can use word from a web browser.
You can use virtualbox without problems.
Tl;Dr: if you don’t do nothing, the CPU stays at 0% utilization. Magic?
(I’m kidding)
Agree, I opened the link because I thought the same thing
Considering my gaming laptop, it does 1h on Linux and, if I recall correctly, 2hrs on Windows. You can pick a laptop with a good Linux support so that you can have a good battery life
I’m using Pop OS for gaming and work and it works flawlessly. Looking at the game you listed, I think they will work without problems. Give a look at protondb so you can have an idea. However I would suggest you to try it yourself and see how it goes, gaming on Linux is a very different matter compared to ten years ago!
Any distro is better than Ubuntu nowadays. I use pop os personally and it works flawlessly.
I would send you to !selfhosted@lemmy.world
Give a look at distrobox
Thank you for sharing this, it’s an interesting read
Snap mainly, at least for me
You can use rclone
I Wish I would have discovered it before. I think it’s very useful when you want to install proprietary software like Matlab or Vivado. With distrobox you avoid to bloat your system and when you want to remove them you simply remove the container
You say that because they are listed as removable? If so because I updated from 515 to 525 months ago and today from 525 to 535. I think they are still there but are not used anymore and are safe
League of Legends works perfectly on Linux
