Migrating from docker to podman… why?
Migrating from docker to podman… why?
Time for me to mourn autodesks killoff of eagle again
I dont want to learn their fusion 360 shite and it doesnt run on linux anyway.
Which thinkpad did you get? I’m looking at sunsetting my x1 extreme gen 2.
I run Ubuntu Mate, and all my work shiz is containerised. But I also have more RAM than Jesus Christ himself. My laptop works fine and it has more modest RAM.
Ah, they might have killed that option in newer kernels. Vaguely remember something about it being a temporary fix, I guess its time has come.
Have you considered Devuan a fork of Debian specifically intended to remove systemd.
Tell that to windows sysadmins. Windows would reaaaaally like to be treated like a pet. I feel for them.
Did a system upgrade overwrite your grub config?
There is a grub argument to pass to the kernel that disables that renaming behaviour entirely.
Is that just forcing the cpu scheduler? I use ubuntu-mate, and theres just a dropdown widget to switch between balanced/power/powersave.
vanilla with no configuration.
My thinkpads have always gone further on ubuntu than on windaz.
Don’t buy a synology. For less money you can make a better system. I use a cheap itx board, a used 6600k, Silverstone DS380 and 8x4TB disks of spinning rust and a 256G NVME as my current iteration of my NAS. its basically silent, and runs ubuntu + zfs + shit in containers. Its excellent.
I am however considering 10G ethernet cards for it and my desktop and just doing point-to-point. Not that 1G is too slow for my needs, but because it’d be fun.
Absolute bravery. Though I use runit for booting multiple things inside a docker container because fuck all that multi container lark just to get nginx and a php and a node going.
I don’t have time to fuck about, I use ubuntu mate because it gets out of my way and does what I expect it to do.
I’ve not even heard of what the technical merits are. It seems to just break shit like systemd.
Eventually I’ll be dragged across by the distro, but until then I do not care.
