Hmmm… I guess it’s not that easy. FW surely have some populist topics, like around energy, but mostly I would call them conservative centrists, with libertarian influence.

Totally - for new users it’s great… similarly, I would have loved to start typing on Dvorak.
My problem might be one of age, but there is no way I’m gonna retrain myself after 20+ years of typing that specific ls command… ;)
It’s cool, I just gave it a go, but I’m not sure it’s gonna happen that I’ll transition from
ls -lrt (this does not work in NuShell)
to
ls | sort-by modified | reverse
Been working in IT since 1997. Imposter syndrome sucks.
That being said, contributing to FOSS can be as little as helping others in a Linux forum, validating bug reports, etc before you file your first pull request 😁

Personally, I also wanted to try some new tech, and created my first android app for my daughter to practice her basic math operations many years ago.
Another option for you would be to find a FOSS project you like and contribute there (fediverse? Hint, hint).
So what, let people enjoy what they like.
It’s not like the planet is running out of people.
