If only we had a series of pneumatic tubes connecting all our homes, you could order something online and have it pop up right next to you minutes later.
Ordinary Mexicans
Traditionally both parties had to agree to get divorced if there had not been some “grounds” for the divorce that could be proved in court. That’s why the classic business for old timey private detectives was proving that their client’s spouse was committing adultery in order to legally justify a divorce.
Yeah I actually came across this statistic in this article about those guys wanting to make divorce much harder, which linked to the study: https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2024/05/no-fault-divorce-gop-republicans-mainstream-podcast-dudes/
If I were the Iranian leadership I’d want to develop a nuclear arsenal yesterday. It’s the only way to really deter Israeli or American aggression. As an American myself I’d appreciate the resulting reduction in the likelihood of our going to war against Iran.
Goggins is a treasure. Between Righteous Gemstones, I’m a Virgo and Invincible he’s killing it all over right now.
Huh, what’s the logic to doing it on shuffle working better than the original order?
I went back and watched the other old Star Treks after not having watched them when they aired but Voyager was the one that seemed not worth my while. Should I check it out?
Justified is coming up on my list to watch for the first time.
Just finished rewatching Invincible inspired by the new season being out, now just started on The Good Place.
Haha probably meant to write “miles” the second time
Pretty lame, basically just giving lifetime achievement awards to a bunch of beloved elderly actors rather than basing the awards on the shows and performances in question.
I don’t think they should have barred Machado from running, but I also don’t think the US should sanction them over it. American meddling never improves this sort of situation, especially when in the form of hurting a country’s economy.
This is in very poor taste as a comment on an article about the US increasing sanctions that really will make Venezuelans go hungry.
I mainly changed it because the downvotes from patriotic Europeams had already started to pour in on the “what’s the matter with Europe?” title and I figured the new one both reflected the content better and would avoid that kind of “just read the title and I’m mad” response.
Thanks, that is a much better title - just replaced the original in my post with it. Got to love lemmy letting you edit post titles!
Take the hint Xi, she’s just not into you.
I’d endorse that summary of his policy preferences. It’s staggering how crippling having a monetary but not a fiscal union has been for Europe.
The word libertarian was used to mean something more leftist before that term was claimed by the modern America right wing libertarian movement, but that movement was never anything but a catspaw for right wing oligarchs.
Haha probably better to keep the tube closer to the surface of the Earth but otherwise yes.
