I’m not familiar with Argentinian politics. What would you call him?
Most things I read the last few days called him left wing. But things get fuzzy calling people/parties left/right, especially across different continents.

Sorry, I misread your comment as saying you were in the UK. That’s on me, you didn’t formulate it badly.
I do think that Erdogan’s reelection is worse for Turkey than Brexit is for the UK. And I think the latter is fucked up.
Still, I truly believe that a lot of people that voted against their own interest are victims of themselves and the lies they were fed. But I’m definitely too soft hearted and naive at times.
Like you said, I’m an outsider and didn’t mean to imply to mandate who you should have sympathy for.
You can still have sympathy for people that didn’t vote for him but are living there (so similar to remain voters living in a post-brexit UK), and even for people that voted for him based on lies.
Holy shit, what a bad take.
Why doesn’t the government take actions to reduce sanctions then?
It’s a lot easier and cheaper to build a solar plant of ten times the seize compared to one nuclear plant though.
How did you get those numbers though? A standard on-shore wind turbine has a maximum power output of 2MW. Let’s say on average, it’s half, so 1 million Watt. You’re counting 500k m² per turbine?
What kind of area did you use for the nuclear plant?
Also, solar has the added benefit that it can be installed on basically wasted space (e.g., people’s roof) unlike the others.
You mean Don Weasley?
Also, does this mean we have to destroy Putin’s horcruxes before we can stop him?
If Prigozhin has to spent the rest of his life in hiding as the rat that he always was, I’m okay with that
Do you think Wagner/Russia’s involvement does not fall under the category of neo-colonialism?
Anything in the Netherlands is close to an urban core.
They also have centuries of experience on building on lands that shouldn’t be capable of supporting dense housing. Amsterdam used to be a literal swamp as well (I’m not making any statements on its current status).
The Netherlands exports an enormous amount of meat currently. It’s the largest exporter of meat of any EU country. They export 60% of the meat they produce. So yeah, they would be fine.
The Netherlands is currently really suffering from nitrogen pollution, in a big part because of the meat industry. So it would also be a great improvement for the environment to reduce the meat production.
Having such a big part of the European meat production localized in one of the most populated regions in the EU is just a recipe for disaster.
Thanks for your insights.
This is exactly why I’m sharing this. I hope people will see this and realise what kind of policies Vox together with PP would implement and dissuade them from voting for them.
I am not from Spain myself, but this is a worrying trend in many countries.
They already said they don’t like the Dems, just that they dislike Republicans more. Which is absolutely valid. One is not doing enough to protect them, the others are actively trying to remove their rights. Both sides are not the same.
In a different system, I would definitely encourage everyone to vote for a 3rd party. Not being from the US, I do. But in a FPTP system, that’s just not viable. It’s not a vote for the other party, but it’s the same as not voting, or worse if your 1 democratic state is the only one to go 3rd party.
Until a primary candidate of one of the established parties runs on a platform to change the electoral system, there’s just very little you can do. Which I can only imagine how frustrating it is. I’m not from the US, but I’m invested enough and have close friends living there that I want to see a change as well.
It’s not though. It doesn’t just protect employers to call anyone whatever pronoun they want, it mandates that the preferred pronoun for trans people (and others) are not used.
It doesn’t just protect bigotry, it requires it.
