Here’s something I learned from the 2005 feature film “Lord of War” starring Nicholas Cage:
Well, according to taxonomists, all carnivores are either cats or dogs.
Carnivora are divided into two suborders, the Feliformia, containing the true felids and several “cat-like” animals; and the Caniformia, containing the true canids and many “dog-like” animals.
Can confirm: He stole my girl.
He stole me too.
The rest of the guy:
“$3,000 setup to play a game from 2010.”
I have an RTX 4070 that I’ve been using to play Half Life. I’ve owned my copy for a while, but have never played it.
Drives my wife crazy lol
Can confirm. I use Debian on a laptop and it’s great.
The only time I forced Linux on anyone was when I gave my youngest brother a free laptop a couple years ago. It’s the laptop I had in college in 2011. It has a Sandy Bridge mobile Core i7. It’s too slow to run modern Windows. I told him he’s free to install Windows, but I don’t have a license to give him. For checking emails and web surfing, though, it was enough, and running Linux wasn’t going to give him trouble with that. To my knowledge (and to his credit), he still runs Linux on it.
It probably does, actually. Idaho isn’t exactly known for good sense, people first policies.
Maybe if the manufacturers would make good, affordable small trucks, this wouldn’t be an issue.
But then the results of that would be rigged, too.
BOB! I LOVE IT!!
Also, my guy has a primordial pouch. It flops left and right when he walks. Very funny. Not fat, just at the upper end of a healthy weight.
I was considering a Scion FR-S, but the vraaaa-AAAAAAAAAA sound that VTEC Hondas make is such stupid fun.
But if I had the money, a new BRZ would be cool as hell.
My wife bought me the matchbox car as a “just because” gift about this time last year. It wasn’t even 3 months later I got the full-size model. So now I keep the matchbox in my car. I’ll put it on the cluster like this when I go to my local cars and coffee as a little easter egg for anyone who looks inside.
She stuffed a few others in my Christmas stocking. I love them. I’d love to have the real things, but I don’t exactly have the warehouse to store or the salary to insure them all lol
I just keep it in the glove compartment unless I take it to cars and coffee. Then I’ll put it on the instrument cluster.
Mint and Kubuntu are great for newbies. Ubuntu is also great, but the community hates Ubuntu these days so be ready to get replies criticizing Ubuntu or your choice to use it. It still makes a lot of shit really easy.
I used Ubuntu for over 10 years. I loved it. But Canonical does have a lot of baggage. Plus, I wanted to go to the source. So that’s why I use Debian. I’d still advise a new user to go for Mint if they loved the Windows UI or Ubuntu if they hated it. If you use and love Mint, I don’t think anyone would criticize you for continuing to use it. If you use and love Ubuntu, I’d say Debian is a very easy next step.
“I’ve no idea what you’re talking about. This is my chair, and it’s a bloody shame I’m not big enough to move your arse from it when you’ve stolen it.”
Cat, probably.
My orange cat is the direct opposite. You look in his general direction for even a fraction of a second, and he’s all over you like Grandma’s kisses.
It’s sweet.
But it’s also exhausting sometimes.
Edit:
He knows this. I used to listen to his show. And in all my time listening to him, he never took on a caller who was making nine bucks an hour and struggling to make ends meet. His most frequent type of caller is a straight late twenties couple who make $140k a year, who owe maybe $25k in credit cards, and whose obvious answer to fixing the problem is to sell the thousand dollar car payment for something more basic and eat out less often. Because he knows if minimum wage workers get past the screeners, there’s nothing he can do to help. That’s a systemic problem and he knows he’s part of it. What’s he gonna tell them? Go get a better job? Cool. If everyone does that, there won’t be any of those jobs for 90% of them, one, and two, there won’t be anyone working those important low wage jobs. Someone’s gotta flip the burgers. Someone’s gotta stock the shelves. The problem is systemic. And the answer is fuck the rich.
I have a '97 Honda Prelude Type SH. For the 5th generation, only about 60,000 USDM Preludes were made. The Type SH was more expensive. There was also no automatic option for the Type SH, and since manuals were already dying in the 90s, I’d guess that they didn’t even sell more than a few thousand of them.
It’s a little rough. One of these days, I’m gonna dump a few thousand bucks into it and make it beautiful. But we’re working on our house and some other things first. Someone put a bunch of those bluish LEDs all over the thing. I deconverted it back to soft white halogens.
