1·10 months agongl i consistently have a better experience running games through wine than using their native versions. linux ports are often completely dysfunctional and it sucks ass
1·10 months agoI’m just fundamentally against those tablets in cars. I’ve never seen a single good implementation of it. This first question I always have is… what can this do that my phone cant do easier, faster, and better? And 100% of the time I’ve had to ask this it has been nothing. I just use a phone grip on either my dashboard or my windshield and that accomplishes the same thing without having to use the massive, clunky, and usually dysfunctional tablet stuck on my console. Another enormous complaint is that most cars that work like this also remove aux/tape/cd and then BURY the bluetooth audio option underneath a bunch of finnicky android auto shit that has so many different problems all of which wouldn’t exist in the first place if i could just set my phone in a clamp and plugged in the aux cable. The only benefit android consoles have i can tell it has is being big if you have bad eyesight.
oh wow! i doubt im going to use that feature because android auto is insufferable but that’s still really neat!

I use eternity; I havent found something that it struggles with yet. Can anyone here let me know why use decided against eternity? I dont really know its limitations since I’ve only used it.
fair enough! if it works, it works, i guess. the proxy disable doesn’t seem to work for me either, by the way, i just checked! i guess it’s probably a known issue.
im not sure / cannot recall. it’s been a few months since i last tried to install it and it kept erroring out. im definitely strongly considering looking back into it though, it’s just that reverse proxying to the container was a nightmare… it still haunts my config, lol
that is… surprising. not that i don’t believe you, snap just doesn’t have a good track record, lol. ill have to research if it’s feasible to run a snap package on a debian server, though.
Invidious. It got so bad that I just gave up and switched to piped which has been… well, not perfect, but definitely far more consistent.
that’s reasonable i guess, though im only really interested in YouTube frontends for the privacy benefits which piped helps greatly with. why not use something like revanced, or why not turn off the piped proxy in libretube?

ive tried to get nextcloud working several times and it just seems to never work for some reason… maybe i should set it up on a pi ive got laying around instead of my main server lol
real answer? im way too stupid to figure out how the hell to use it. i spent 3 straight days trying to get it working a couple years ago with no luck.
