lmao get back to me when the mods on lemmy.world stop deleting every comment that is critical of Biden. STFU. There is no recourse for mods on Lemmy and they can use their powers to delete any comments they want. The only recourse you have is to find a fediverse that caters to your weakass centrist views.
It’s marginal utility is not worth the energy expenditures.
I didn’t miscomprehend, you just disagree with my reasonable assertion that AI is pointless and sucks. Hope this helps!
They’re taking about emissions, not energy use. You have a reading comprehension issue. The emissions are from the energy production. It’s logical to say that a, largely pointless, technology using high amounts of electricity cause emissions through the generation of electricity to power the pointless AI tech.
This person was just expressing their surprise. Why are you so pissy lmao
My disdain for the United States is not a secret nor is it an ulterior motive. It’s just the logical extension of all the atrocities that have been and continue to be committed by the US as a colonizing force and as a world superpower.
I don’t oppose Israel’s genocide because I hate the US - I hate the US because it supports and inflicts genocide.
This isn’t ancient history, Israelis have been enacting and vocalizing a plan to colonize Palestine since the middle of the last century. The idea of Zionism was around before then, but that’s when it took place. There are still people alive who survived the Nakba. The colonialism is the situation right now.
It’s not the same, because Israel are systematic colonizers. IDF acts on behalf of Israel. Sure, not all Israelis have the same political opinions, but ultimately they are living in a country that is committed to genocide of Palestinians. Lots of countries hate the United States for extremely valid reasons and I do have sympathy and ultimately agree with their hatred of Americans, even though I am one.
Ah I see, honestly my interpretation still stands. Not every Palestinian who can’t sympathize with Israelis is Hamas. Hamas was an example given (because that’s what e.g. means), but based on what they said, they’re referring to any Palestinian who lacks sympathy. They didn’t say only Hamas. And this poster is conflating those two separate but overlapping groups of people, which is also fucked up.
It makes sense to support the Arabs who got displaced …if you’re a member of one of those groups
If you’re a Palestinian
if you’re a member of one of those groups and can’t sympathize with the other (eg … IDF)
If you’re a Palestinian who can’t sympathize with the IDF
…then you should get no sympathy at all.
If you’re a Palestinian who can’t sympathize with the IDF, then you should get no sympathy at all .
So, again, you’re saying you have no sympathy for Palestinians who dislike the IDF, who have been continuously murdering them and stealing their land?
So you’re saying you have no sympathy for Palestinians who dislike the IDF, who have been continuously murdering them and stealing their land? That is what you’re saying right?
Hm, I wonder why Palestinians wanted the settler-colonial state of Israel to not exist. Hm. Could it be that the state of Israel has been systematically invading and stealing Palestinian land? And that they’ve been quite vocal about their goals to do so?
Would you also denounce Native Americans for wanting the United States to not exist anymore? Were they wrong for their violent retaliations in the 1800s? After years of genocide, lies, and enslavement?
Nah, tired advice. I was literally on a remote island for most of a year, and missed out on Harambe and clowns and whatever else happened that year. But if you have a real interest in pop culture you stay in tune. Most older people don’t stay on top of it because they don’t care to, which is fine it’s not for everyone.
You kind of seem like the most insufferable person imaginable so honestly, cool. Stay inside by yourself.
That’s not the same thing, I go outdoors constantly and don’t see people. What you have isn’t a dislike of the outdoors, it’s agoraphobia.
You’re probably an asshole to everyone around you if you think the only intellectual jobs are ones that are done sitting at a desk.
Why? Honestly, what do you dislike about being outside?
You think people in trades don’t think at work? This is actually just classism or something idk. You really don’t think electricians, contractors, plumbers etc aren’t problem solving on the daily? We’re not talking about working on a factory line.
I have an outdoors job (biology/ecology), it’s not extreme lmao, although when I go hiking with my tech friends it does seem like maybe it is extreme to them. Your body adapts to what you do. I do office work some days and outdoors work others, and my mental health after more outdoors days just is like exponentially better. I feel connected to nature, I am using my body, I’m touching and smelling and seeing novel things every day. And in my case, doing something that I truly believe matters.
I enjoy my office days, I get to do planning, mapping, data analysis … but I wouldn’t be caught dead using all my mental energy to stare at a screen every day lol
So the pro-Biden comments are staying up? Exactly like I said ? lmao
