Also zeppo@sh.itjust.works. Not a lot of Zeppos out here.

Yes, 100% agree. No coincidence Netanyahu is a far right fascist and would prefer Trump himself.
Palestine seems like 60% of what I hear about in national news and on Lemmy. Ukraine, though, no so much. People can’t use it to talk shit about Biden, after all.
I assume future generations will be as ill-informed and generally dumb as current generations.
Taking his public statements at face value sure is not “fearmongering”. This deranged grandpa is often cited for “telling it like it is!!” so why would we not believe he means specifically what he says?
Russia being a threat to Europe isn’t exactly surprising considering that threat is the entire reason NATO exists.
He would leave NATO as soon as possible. No normal politician has ever suggested this before because it’s completely insane. It’s obvious Putin bullshit since it’s 100% against the best interests of the US and Europe, and only benefits Russia. It’s also a distortion that the EU doesn’t fund their part in NATO… a few countries spend less than they should, the rest are perfectly fine on that metric.
One problem is that it’s very socially unacceptable to mistake not-a-hint for a a hint. Maybe people should stop trying to ‘hint’ and be more direct.
I hate a lot of them. The crying-laughing is the worst to me.
Sure. I wasn’t suggesting T1 was your problem, just that sometimes it’s a matter of lucking out on a doctor figuring out what the precise thing is. In my case, it kept going for another year until it was obvious when I went to the ER. Hope they do help you.
When I was there, I had a lot of tests… but they never tested for type 1 diabetes, and it turned out I had type 1 diabetes.
I hope they keep looking into it and get something figured out. I assume they’re doing basic blood work like a comprehensive blood panel? Autoimmune diseases? Unfortunately, my experience in the medical field is that sometimes if they can’t figure it out relatively easily, they sort of give up, and eventually the condition gets worse and becomes more obvious and easier to diagnose.
I recall you saying part of the problem you have is hypersensitivity to the scents of various foods. If you can tolerate V8, I’d assume you can consume vegetables in liquid form in general? You could consider getting a juicer and making some different blends. Personally, when I was starving, I tried surviving on protein powders and very soft foods but that wasn’t working. Eventually I made chicken broth, chicken and blended it up sometimes with potatoes, corn or rice, and it doesn’t sound appetizing but actually worked great and saved me from starvation. I found some neutral tasting protein powders that were good with juice or broth too… pea and hemp worked for me.
My father has been using computers for 50 years and hasn’t seemed to really learn anything. His work had one of the first personal conouters, an Altair, and we had C64s and early DOS machines when I was a kid. He could do excel, word, general word processing, had spreadsheets back in the early days of Lotus… at this point he gets confused and frustrated by like, the CVS website. Doesn’t ask for help though, just keeps doing his knows what and getting angry about it, then when I try to help (like, “oh, your credit card number is entered wrong”) he just gets angry and says “this is a SIMPLE THING! I DONT NEED HELP!” Like, okay, you’ve been overlooking this error message on a website and acting pissed for 15 minutes, but whatever.
history | grep <word> and ! would blow his mind.
That was something I got tired of saying, about error messages, “what do the words on the screen say?”
When using computers became more mainstream in the late 90s I thought “phew, finally people will learn to use them and not act like it’s some arcane and nerdy thing they couldn’t possibly understand! They’ll have to figure it out for work and the average person will finally understand the basics like file system hierarchies, right click menus, switching between windows and…” nope. We entered the period of “monthly_report.pdf.exe” instead and then, mobile phones which have enabled people to use computers without learning anything about how they work at all.
Glad you’re alright! I’m lucky to have driven for years and never done harmed anyone in a collision. If the person’s insurance goes up, well, there’s a reason they do that.
I was lightly struck by a guy at a crosswalk in a busy commercial district… walking on the sidewalk, saw this car apparently coming to a stop and walked out into the crosswalk, but he went a little far. He barely tapped me and I sort of fell o to his hood. It was this old black dude. Not much to say so I just waved and kept going.
So damn many noodles. I can’t eat wheat noodles so the Chinese and Vietnamese rice noodles are awesome. My favorite are these ones from Taiwan, “Famous Buddha Noodle” which are vermicelli sized. Seems like there’s 20 different kinds of vermicelli though.
At H-Mart, probably my single favorite thing is the tray with a ton of hot Thai chiles.
My mom is pretty into chocolate milk on cereal and she will only go with one brand… it’s just whatever they have at Kroger, but nothing else will do.
I was buying all of my produce at Costco for a while and thought it was great. They’re good for potatoes! Last I checked, anyway… I moved and the nearest Costco is 50 miles away which isn’t much fun. I miss the cheap tofu and the big bags of Power Greens, also that things like potatoes cost 25% less.
I’ll have to check out the sumos… also find my citrus juicer! We’ve been getting some weird oranges that are pink inside… not blood oranges, just pink. Also some good mangoes lately.
Pretty sure I was able to rearrange icons on my IPod Touch 4 in 2010.
