Calling this a religious war completely misses the socioeconomic context. Palestine is extremely poor, but they’ve also been systematically oppressed, had their homes stolen from them, had their rights ripped away, and are treated as basically subhuman.

Religion is the power that’s organizing revolutionaries, but it’s not the power that’s creating revolutionaries.

Revolutionary groups are almost always operating from a severe disadvantage. They lack the resources of the regime that oppresses them.

You should ask yourself why revolutionaries feel that extremism is the solution. Is it maybe because peaceful protest leads to Zionist forces opening fire on unarmed civilians? Maybe it’s because losses in this drawn out conflict have disproportionately affected Palestinians?

These attacks have caused a massive flight of people from Israel, have forced the Bank of Israel to take very aggressive action to avoid the collapse of the shekel, have mobilized the countries bordering Israel, and have indicated that Palestinian resistance is not hopeless.

Sounds like it’s a problem that could be unilaterally solved by the US limiting military aid to Israel instead of propping up a genocidal regime. It’s not Russia’s fault that US foreign policy led to their support of genocidal maniacs.

What do people say about Russia and China? That the government and the people are different entities? The same applies here. Not supporting the absolutely batshit crazy Israeli government does not indicate a lack of support for the Jewish people.

People want revolutionaries under constant oppression and inequality to fight a “fair, modern war” against one of the most well-funded militaries in the region.
