For anyone trying to catch up on things, Shireen Abu Akleh was an experienced Palestinian American journalist killed by the Israeli Defense Force in May of last year. It didn’t make it into most mainstream news, but among people who pay attention to these things, it was shocking to see an American journalist murdered by state violence, but unlike Jamaal Khoshogi, the US state department refused to investigate or condemn Israel’s actions even after investigations showed it to be implausible that the soldier who killed her wasn’t aware of what they were doing.
Her funeral was attacked by Israeli police because they supposedly carried her coffin to the wrong place. Horrible story.
Also the hospital she was treated at before she died.
There was also the American girl that got ran over by a bulldozer… Slowly.

I was watching Al Jazeera English as they reported this and it was in no way an accident. The journalists from Reuters, Associated Press, etc. were traveling with them in a convoy of vehicles together wearing all the “PRESS” stuff and making their location known. They were in Lebanon nowhere near any militants so this should be investigated.
Reuters paying the price for the white phosphorous story.

And Saudi Arabia is pretty fucking wealthy. What’s a couple tens of millions in PAC donations if it guarantees your guy wins? They’d be stupid to just back one and risk losing.
Are they going to deny this one for months too like the last one until and independent investigation can confirm unequivocally that it was an Israeli munition?
War zones tend to be dangerous. Very sad for the man who died, hope the injured recover quickly.
But how come only journalists from one side are dying? Seriously, one can think that these are not only unfortunate happenings but more targeted attacks to suppress the criticism of Israel.
Maybe because the other side is too busy aiming their rockets at civilian population centers? Ever think there is a simpler explanation?
