Feels like increasingly that is the new reality for all of us, everything is a potential attack vector, even if it’s much less lethal attacks. Data grabs, money grabs, attention grabs. Show me something weaponizable that isn’t being exploited as one in one way or another.

Assuming you’re continuing to develop this, maybe try displaying it like a bubble graph with posting frequency being the bubble size, and having nodes show all of the community names inside the largest bubbles at a particular zoom level.
Allowing the user to sort the data based on different criteria would be useful too, and links between nodes showing size of shared userbase might be interesting although you couldn’t show the connection between all nodes at once. One quality of life feature that would be great is pinch to zoom in/out rather than the current selection zoom.
Would be great if eventually users could subscribe to communities directly through this as an interface.

Despair is also a key party platform. The more hopeless someone is, the more likely they are to invite catastrophic change like Trump promises.

In the US they advertise drugs directly to us, we’re expected to do our own marketing-guided research to speed along the transaction.
I was picturing a graphical map with circles for the communities at different sizes for the amount of traffic. It could be based on proximity for how much overlap there was in user posts and comments, and also by category, color the circles by instance maybe too? Like make it waaay more visible and accessible than Reddit. Somebody must have the chops to make something like that here, right?

A lot of the people that did inspections like that likely retired because of the pandemic, there’s a huge loss of institutional knowledge that’s happening out of view in so many fields.
In the winter growing up we had a big ol tomcat and he would get the winter blues when feet and feet of snow would fall, so we’d get a 5 gallon bucket, punch a hole at the base at one side and fill it with birdseed so it would pour out slowly and set it up against the snowbank. We dug a little cat hole in the snowbank that faced it and laid a warm blanket in there for him to sit and watch and hunt the birds and squirrels. We loved that old tomcat, I still have a painting I did of him. Mom would pick and dry flowers and put them in his bed under the layers of old clothes and he would sleep on it near the wood stove and dream of spring. Cats spend only a short time with us and we owe it to them to do anything possible to make their lives more joyous and fulfilling. Thank you, stranger, may you have many happy years with your cats.
