If I understand it correctly it’s basically community to community federation, so when you subscribe to a community it also pushes other community posts it follows to your subscribed feed. Those posts would still show up as those other communities. A community becomes not just a place to post, but also as a curator that vouches for other communities as well. You could even potentially have a curate only community like a lemmy best community list to get newbies started, or category level communities.

Even for indexes I do index or something more specific for what it’s indexing. Any simple iteration I just do map or each so the only time I ever need to actually index things is for more complex scenarios in which case it’s worth it to have better names. Also with modem IDEs, auto complete is really good so you don’t need to write a full variable name more than once.

Very true, I put my effort towards trying to reducing my waste rather than gas electric and water. One thing I do think people should change is reducing how much meat they consume though, specifically beef. That produces a lot of bad environmental effects like deforestation and runoff.

That’s the idea. 7 trillion dollars per year is a lot of money and that stuff is where some of it would go.

Strikers were bombed back in the day by aircrafts. Unionization was won through enduring warfare yet we just gave it away. Shows how powerful unionization is that the elites are completely terrified of it, and that they have surpressed the history of it so few will know how much blood was shed to get it.

The super famous ones do but for every one of them there are thousands of poorly paid ones. What the studios are doing would remove the possibility of even becoming well paid in the future. These strikes are about helping the people not at the top, and about protecting their upward mobility.

I’ve already seen enough. Chalamet’s performance is bad and a Wonka movie can’t be good without a good Wonka performance.

It feels like he’s desperately trying to be whimsical but is awkward and unnatural at it so his performance feels super fake. If you’re going to make a Wonka movie then Wonka’s performance matters more than anything else.

This is a prequel so it’s a new side of the story. My bigger problem with this is that it just looks really bad. The performance falls really flat and feels desperate to invoke whimsy, but it’s failing badly at it.

We were warned. We were told it was a tipping point situation and things would seem ok until they aren’t.

Seriously the green rhetoric needs to change. The planet is going to be fine. Humans aren’t.

I think the straw thing is much more about trash than it is about combating climate change. Plastic getting into the eco system and building up in landfills is a big problem too, but it’s a different and also important problem.
