Yesterday I drove behind a new generation RAV4 and was shocked at how big it was. I remembered them as smaller SUVs.

Looking at carsized.com the 2005 gen definitely looks lighter and sportier and smaller than the current 2019 fat slob.

What’s the point of capitalising, if it doesn’t help to differentiate a noun from other word classes?

I just found the American, no mention of wether that’s a bad thing. It just makes your nation unique, that you use measuring cups.

As I see it, English has the word fruit twice.

Once as a sweet fruit.

And once as anything that is produced to hold the seeds. Hazelnut is the fruit of the hazelnut tree. Mushroom is the fruit of the mycelium. Pinecone is the fruit of the pine.

Also fruits of your labour somewhere.

Ich glaube immernoch, dass es Wähler gibt, die meinen “ich will das die AFD vorhanden ist, aber nicht unbedingt stärkste Kraft” und “ich will den etablierten zeigen, dass ich unzufrieden bin”.

Other European languages are mostly completely phonetic with exceptions. English is a mess.

You would just have to learn the clusters. Like in French “eaux” makes an /o/ sound, but it’s always that same sound, wherever you encounter it.

Polish looks like letter salad for the uninitiated, but is also consistent in its own rules. Cz = tsh, sz = sh and so on. Once you’ve cracked the code, it’s not difficult to pronounce polish words.
